Rooted in Naija is a not-for-profit organization that aims to connect young adults of the African diaspora with their ancestral heritage and cultural roots. What are our responsibilities? We coordinate all travel, transfers, housing, security, and logistics for every trip.
Round trip airfare (group travel from a designated city), Insurance and security, Accommodation, Group transportation at destination, Meals, All organized activities and touring.
Visas and Personal purchases (like souvenirs).
We are funded by individual donors who believe in our mission. Participants are also expected to contribute towards the trip. Scholarships are available.

Your health is our top priority. A fully-trained first-aid responder will be with your group throughout the length of your trip. We will partner with an on-call doctor and local hospital for the trip duration.

If that will make you feel more comfortable. The best way to be safe while on your trip is to stay with your group and follow directions at all times. We will have armed security 24/7.

Yes.
If you don’t already have a passport, we recommend that you begin obtaining one as soon as selected. You’ll be required to provide your passport number and a photocopy of your passport before we issue your flight ticket.

If your luggage does not arrive when you do, most airlines will offer compensation when you present receipts, so that you can get some basics. We will also have comprehensive travel insurance that can be used for this. Remember to carry essentials such as medications and a change of clothes in your carryon baggage.
Due to the limited number of spots on each trip, we need to ensure that all selected participants will show up. When an applicant pays the non-refundable deposit, this lets us know that you’re serious about traveling with Rooted in Naija and covers any fees that we might incur in the event of a late cancellation.
Payments are handled through secure online payment systems. We will also accept wire transfers, or checks.

Participants who fail to appear for departure will forfeit all payments.
